Dear friends!
This year's christmas will be memorable for me for a very special reason, but about that, later!~
First, let me show you some wonderful photos of London's Lovely Lights of this Christmas!
Regent Street.
Regent Street
Carnaby Street
Oxford Street
Oxford Street Oxford Street Oxford Street
Trafalgar Square-Norwaygian Christmas Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square And the Best of ALL- Covent Garden
After this wonderful Night-scene, would you believe the Christmas Morning scene? As I had told you in my last post, London becomes totally quiet on the Christmas Day, as if it is empty and Ian has captured this emptiness by his camera. Here are some examples:
Cambridge Circus on Christmas morning
Oxford Circus on Christmas morning Picadilly Circus on Christmas morning.
Ian has captured many such empty streets and posted those photos on 'IanVisits'. Please see them on Flickr(Yahoo).
well, I would like to add a 'Christmas photo' of my own decoration:

REAL SILENT NIGHT,PLEASE!!
REAL SILENT NIGHT,PLEASE!!
London is usually a very noisy city. Its everyday noise is the sound of sheer commerce. The incessant hisses of cars or buses tyres on wet roads, trains rushing across viaducts, dreary drone of planes above and chiefly the noise of people. On the streets, poeple walk shouting monologues into phone earpieces. One call ends and another instantly begins. In warmer months people are prone to open their windows and let their music billow through the entire street! Some people put their television up so loud that you may feel that some politician is shouting at you personally! It is as if no one lives in London for tranquility and people areunsettled by silence!
Only on some rare occasions in deep winter London becomes silent when it is covered with thick snow. Snow forces us to stop and listen to silence.
And then comes Christmas and Boxing Day! The city suddenly goes quiet. London's background roar is as if extinguished. An entire city of eight million people comes to a complete and contended halt! Even the great wide river, my dear Thames, is noiseless, save for the feeble slurps of small waves sucking at the embankment wall. In the deepning indigo haze of a Christmas twilight, you look at those hundreds of little lights in the windows of all the riverside apartments and wonder how is it that so many thousands of people can be so very quiet.Has everyone reached to a silent understanding to keep the noise down?
And then you can savour the novelty of being able to walk down the centre of the road, while listening to your own footsteps! The slippery frost makes even the dullest pavements glitter! You see more clearly the sombre, stern dignity of the City Wren Churches, the pride that lay behind their gothic spires. In the quiet, you are more aware of the city's great history and then realise that London is there for other more important reasons too!
Then I look above thankfully at the sky and suddenly a news item comes to my mind. It is said that many rare species of birds have returned to the inner city in recent years. So, wouldn't it be nice if we could give them at least some patches of sound-proofed sylvan peace in certain quarters? the general pollution has come down considerably here in London. Couldn't the noise pollution come down a little too?...Oh, Let us have a Real Silent Night this Christmas, for God's merry Harbingers-the birds!

LET ME HAVE MY CHRISTMAS DELIGHT!
LET ME HAVE MY CHRISTMAS DELIGHT!
It is well known that alongwith whole Europe we too are going through an economical crunch.Everyone is feeling the pinch. So it was amusing to see our 'Sam Cam'(samantha Camaron, wife of our prime minister), who herself earns a six-figure salary at Smythson, stepping into Ikea-the scandanavian Budget home Store in Wembley last week like a regular housewife to buy a rug and flat pack shelves for '10, Downing Street'(Prime minister's official residence). It was an astonishing and almost unbelievable sight as she picked up several very cheap household items. Moreover, she lugged the furniture around all by herself, refusing help from those who offered it. And when she left the store there was only a single pick-up van to ferry the stuff and no retinue of lackys!

Oh, what a deceit being promoted! Because the same lady recently splurged 64,000 pound sterlings for providing a floating ceiling and a new luxury bathroom at her Downing Street residence! By such phoney acts these people want to convey us the message to be more frugal in these recession-hit times. But there's no need for such gimmicks. We know better, Mrs.Camaron!
Well, I know, this christmas Santa Claus is likely to bring lesser gifts for me.Yet I am not complaining! Let me have my Christmas Delight! and what else can be the Christmas delight for a teenager like me other than Christmas pudding!
Christmas is that time of the year when you can put aside every consideration and just indulge in some yummy food, whether it is turkey, cake, wine or the special Christmas pudding. Apart from being delicious, Christmas cuisine has the added advantage of bringing the family together, both in preparing and consuming it. Making the Christmas pudding specially, is a ritual that brings me, mom and dad closer, as each one of us stirs the mixture once and makes a wish, before the pudding goes into the oven!
Only last year I was allowed by my mom to prepare Christmas pudding chiefly all by myself. I followed a video of Marguerite Patten, the famous first TV chef of Britain.Though she promised that the pudding can be prepared in flat 15 minutes by her procedure, I of course took much more time than that, but suceeded in preparing an edible pudding!
I hope mom will allow me that liberty this year too, but you know,my Christmas Delight lies in the pudding prepared by my mom, it is the ultimate!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Dear friends,
I am starting my blog 'Autumn Glory' by singing silently in my mind the Glory of God, Holy Mary and My Lord Jesus!
May God fill my mind with love for everybody! Let me be always positive in thoughts and helpful in deeds.

Oh, the wonderful winter night!
When crispy snow covers the ground,
The twinkling stars sing in the sky
God's glory without a sound.
...The air is chilly, sharp and brisk,
The sky is azure, clear and bright,
And all I need for company
Is some gentle candlelight.
All the nature is now quiet,
Everyone has gone to sleep,
And for warmth in this cold
Your sweet memories I shall keep.
